Welcome!
My name is Emma Kate. After I lost my mom at a young age, I found courage and strength through my faith. In my mom’s battle with cancer (that she conquered!) she was inspired by butterflies as a symbol of beauty and courage to keep fighting. I believe that God sends us butterflies every day through the people we meet, moments of utter peace, and overwhelming sense of joy we have when we have faith in Him. I believe that when we identify the butterflies in our life that inspire these moments, we can have the faith to overcome life’s challenges while knowing God’s grace is in reach.
Mumma’s Butterfly is a digital space where I draw from my own experiences of loss and inspiration in my faith journey to uplift and encourage others. It's a platform for authentic conversations about the complexities of life, including loss, anxiety, and the pursuit of peace. I aspire to create a supportive community where it's not only acceptable but encouraged to admit that we're not always okay, and to explore how God's Word can provide strength and guidance in facing the daily trials that we all encounter. Through shared stories, spiritual reflections, and a nurturing online fellowship, the mission of Mumma’s Butterfly is to offer solace, hope, and a deeper sense of connection to those who seek it.
I am so happy you are here.
Tell me about your butterflies
Transforming those little moments into the art of gratitude .
There is nothing more beautiful than being caught up in life and suddenly a graceful butterfly floats by, catching your eye and giving your mind a peaceful break as you take a moment to recognize the beauty of that small creature. In the hustle and bustle of daily life, it's easy to overlook the small moments that bring joy, peace, and assurance. Whether it's a kind gesture from a friend, a beautiful sunrise, a heartwarming conversation, or simply a quiet moment of self-reflection, each of these moments is a reminder that life is filled with reasons to be grateful. I started calling these moments my “butterflies,” because just as seeing a butterfly makes me feel more grounded and present. I started documenting my “butterflies” and found that it led to an abundance of gratitude that followed me throughout the day. I began to look forward to finding butterflies in my day. As a result, my heart began to feel lighter and positivity was my default.
I then realized that this method could be inspiring to others. Gratitude journals have always been a thing, but this one I hope is a bit different. Instead of things you are grateful for, this journal is for moments (the teeniest tiniest moments) in your day that made you feel grounded, made your heart swell, or brought you peace.
I am very very happy to announce that “Tell me about your butterflies.” is now available on Amazon!
